Our
Role
The Italian Trade Commission: serving businesses and ambassadors
of all that is Made in Italy!
First, we should mention that Italian Trade Commissions (ITCs) are the foreign
representatives of the ICE (Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero)
- The Italian Institue for Foreign Trade - whose head office is located
in Rome. In keeping with their mother organization, it is therefore their
mission to facilitate and develop business trades, encourage industrial
and technical collaboration, and circulate information of an economic nature
among Italy and the rest of the world.
At the same time, the focus is undeniably on the promotion of agri-food
products in general and on products that enjoy the DOP (denominazione di
origine protteta) - Protected Denomination of Origin appellation—these
being true ambassadors of Italian gastronomical know-how.
The ITC therefore organizes numerous events with the active participation
of Italian and Canadian partners in an effort to promote all of Italy’s
specialties, and encourage business relationships between the two countries.
These promotional-event services are actually provided by the ITC free of
charge to Italian businesses wishing to increase their visibility on the
market and develop business relationships.
